AMALGAMATION OF ACT and NSW Branches

Executive Summary

AT the 2024 AGM, the National Executive approved the proposal put forward by ACT President and Interim NSW President Dale COOPER to amalgamate ACT and NSW UNOPAA Branches. Discussion was had in regards to the potential benefits and considerations of amalgamating the ACT and NSW Branches of The United Nations and Overseas Policing Association of Australia - UNOPAA. By combining these two entities, we aim to achieve greater operational efficiency, cost savings, and enhanced service delivery to our members in both ACT and NSW Joint Branches and regions.

In the interim, it is proposed that the Joint Branch Executive formed consists of:

  • ACT-NSW (Joint) Branch President/Treasurer – Dale DJC COOPER RFD
  • ACT Branch Vice President – Geoff HAZELL APM (AFP SUPT Retd)
  • NSW Branch Vice President – (NSWPF SUPT) Toby LINDSAY, and
  • ACT-NSW Secretary/Assistant Treasurer - Michelle LOMAS-TRAVER

The amalgamation of UNOPAA Joint ACT Branch and NSW State Branch presents a significant opportunity to enhance administrative efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service delivery to our members in the ACT & NSW regions. By carefully considering the potential benefits and challenges, we can successfully implement this strategic initiative and create a stronger, more effective outcome.
